A local chocolate shop I have loved working for, Stam Chocolaterie Glen Ellyn, was a stop along the ladies night out this past Spring in Glen Ellyn, IL. I had so much fun painting boxes and bands for their chocolate with florals, perfect for Mother’s Day celebrations and Graduations!
Personalized Engraving: Thank You gift, Whiskey Bottle Engraving
This customer reached out to me to create these beautiful, custom thank you gifts for their builder and design team that recently completed her and her families new home.
She wanted something that would remind them of their home that recently was completed, but also be used. She ultimately chose whiskey bottles they could display on their shelf or alcohol carts well into or even after they have drank the whiskey.
I created a custom, waterproof label with a personalized watercolor drawing of their new home and then etched in the glass each logo for each design firm. A one of kind keepsake!
This was such a fun combination of my skills and things I love to do. To see more of the bottles and the engraving check out the video on my Instagram!
Baby Girl Nursery Print, Water Color Calligraphy
I have a handful of work that does not fit my typical wedding and live event work. It’s always piece I love and am proud of, but differ just enough from my typical offerings. This beautiful, water color and brush lettering print is just one of those pieces that could not stay hidden in my files any longer!
It is always an honor when someone asks me to do a print for them. It seems even more sweet when it is a print to hang in a nursery, since so many hours are usually sent by new parents in that space.
When Chelsea ask me for this beautiful brush, calligraphy verse I had to say ‘yes’.How beautiful is this room and how it fits above the bookcase? Just a gorgeous sentiment and in an already beautiful room.
Hot Foil Calligraphy Offering
I love getting to be apart of so many special events–especially corporate events! You can add a special touch to your next corporate event by adding calligraphy customization with hot foil.
Hot foil is the art of using a special metallic plastic coating with a hot pen to adhere or melt it into the surface such as a notebook or faux leather item.
This fun event was a delayed holiday party where each attendee had the opportunity to pick a notebook or pouch with the company logo and have me add whatever they like written in hot foil!
Most people will opt to write there initials or name, but I always receive a few fun phrases to add to the items.
What would you add on your item?

Brand Refresh with Ness McCormick Photography
What is harder than choosing a new logo? Being a graphic designer who chooses to design and update their own logo! You may have noticed the updated LLP logo on the header of the website. Along with a brand and color refresh. I updated my headshots with a fun brand shoot with the wonderful Ness McCormick Photography this past Summer, and love how they turned out!
Bloomingdales 150th Anniversary: David Yurman
This past Saturday I had the pleasure of engraving gift sets with David Yurman jewelry that honored Bloomingdales 150th Anniversary! It is always fun tot be down in the beauty and jewelry department at on elf these events as they had a great DJ playing, a live artist painting a stunning look, and of course snacks.
Thank you David Yurman and Bloomingdales on Michigan Ave. for having me - here’s to another 150 years!
Styled Shoot: Traditional NYC Elopement with a Modern Twist
What is more gorgeous than engagement photos in classic NYC? A beautiful elopement captured with a mix of classic and modern city backdrops. This beautiful shoot was the concept of Sophie Kaye Photography and photographed by April and Mike Raymond. Find the complete vendor list at the end of these gorgeous photos.
This beautiful shoot combines modern wedding silhouettes and florals among the backdrop of traditional and timeless New York City architecture. Playing off the mix of modern and classic, I kept the suite simple with pops of florals to bring in modern, desaturated color. To finish off the announcement and highlight the calligraphy I added romantic touches of the floral, vellum jacket, a wax seal with gold foil and dried florals, and you can just make out a black and white photo of Washington Square Park that graces the backside of the announcement with the couples custom wedding monogram.
Personalized vow books are the right touch for any elopement. Store your handwritten vows in a beautiful booklet with your monogram and wedding date to preserve your words for years to come. They additionally give you a beautiful, clean way to hold your vows that won’t stand out for the wrong reasons in your photos.
Not exchanging written vows? Personalize the booklet with your monogram and date and use the booklet to store a note to your partner about your marriage and love story.

Anna and Max – Family Tree Chalk Board
Anna asked me about creating a family tree chalkboard for the wedding that had been posted toned due to the pandemic. I loved this sweet and beautiful tribute idea to their families and the family of their own they were honoring by being wed.
The chalkboard at Chicago's Bridge 410 was the perfect blank canvas for Anna and Max to pay tribute to their parents and grandparents through a family tree, illustrated in chalk. This piece was a beautiful backdrop to their April 30th wedding reception and celebration.
David Yurman Jewelry , Live Calligraphy
It was a pleasure to be back at the Michigan Avenue Bloomingdale’s, this time adding calligraphy to David Yurman Jelwery cases. This simple but elegant touch was a great way to compliment the already gorgeous jewelry. Thank you for having me Bloomingdales and David Yurman Chicago!
Live Engraving with Bloomingdales for Valentine's Day!
This past weekend I was back at Bloomingdale on Michigan Avenue for a Valentines Celebration! Live calligraphy is a beautiful and fun way to elevate your gift with a special note or monogram.
Room 1520 Mirror Calligraphy: Wedding for Lauren & Michael
Michael and Lauren were married this past winter at the gorgeous Room1520 in Chicago, IL. I loved being able to write out their bar menu, complete with monogram and specialty drinks including the “Olive Love You” Dirty Martini and the “Barrera-ita” Margarita—a play off the new couples last name.
The monogram and type was carried over to the couples reception seating chart where I matched the calligraphy and font from the seating chart print outs to fill in the mirror space below.
Congrats Lauren and Michael!

Jennifer and Nate - NYE Wedding Chalkboard
How fun is this wedding chalkboard on New Year’s Eve? It is always fun to help a client’s idea come to life. For Jen and Nathan they wanted more of the party feel to continue onto the chalkboard. We added fireworks, florals and fun sparkles to match the NYE vibes.
Congratulations to Jennifer and Nathan!
The Big Fake Wedding, Chicago: Inspired By Morocco
On a warm August night, a handful of vendors came together for a gorgeous vow renewal on the rooftop of Lacuna Lofts under a gorgeous floral arch.
The invitations and paper good were inspired by traditional Moroccan patterns and colors as well as the lush colors of the florals. I loved getting to pull in warm tones to a lighter palette with the contrast of a deep wine color as the RSVP envelope. To add a hint of glamor and a little more elegance, the calligraphy is done in a metallic gold with the invitation foiled in a warm gold.
The theme continued on the beautiful table scapes with arched menus in the same sand color pulled from the invite palette with mimicked arched acrylic placards, bringing in a pop of green to this already stunning table.

Styled Shoot: Romantic, Pink table at DL LOFT
Here is the beautiful second shoot from the minds of K and K Celebrate! I love the mixture of prints, dusty pinks, and accents of metals that touch the table. The gorgeous florals mix perfectly with the glass accents that accentuate the light flooding throughout the venue. I loved getting to use a mixture of paints, calligraphy, and watercolor for all the paper goods! By using florals and textured paint strokes to create a pattern, the paper goods felt enhanced but not too over done.
The incredible team includes:

Bubbly Wall: Bubbly Events Chicago
The perfect mix of elegance, romance and a dash of modern!
Styled Shoot: The Clyde
It was a dream to design these fun, patterned invites for this gorgeous shoot! Elisabeth from Ivory + Beau approached me to create this design first with a fun Marti Gras inspired design and summer color. As the shoot was pushed from July to early Fall, the colors darkened but the gorgeous pattern play and art deco feel didn't! I know if I got married today, this dress and venue would be a strong contender in my planning! Check out more of the inspiration and pictures at the Low Country Wed Blog.

Styled Shoot: Dreamy, Bohemian Style in Chicago
When I was asked to be apart of a shoot at Artifact Event Space I couldn’t say “yes” quicker! I have been to this space a few times, as well as helping with events, and it is just so dreamy! The exposed brick, gorgeous antiques, and light pouring in is the perfect setting for any Chicago party. All the touches from each vendor created the most magical blend of an elegant, city wedding with a touch of whimsy bohemian you could ask for!
Paper goods set the stage for your guests to understand what the “feel” of your wedding will be. With this Save the Date and invitation suite I choose hand-made paper with rough, deckled edges to contrast the timeless feel of the typography and hand-drawn botanicals.
By using two colors for the invitations, black and cornflower blue, the traditional elegance of a black-tie wedding is conveyed without sacrificing the laid-back vibes of the bohemian decor that the bride and groom have throughout their day.
Hand-done details, such as the vow books and the accent mirror, lend the bohemian elegance to this unconventional space in just the right touches without feeling out of place.
One of my favorite extra items for this wedding was this mirror! The unconventional shape next to the cake adds dimension and unexpected whimsy to the sweets table. I used the lyrics from Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness to add that extra touch of romance and sentimental flair (not that this beautiful couple needed it in the slightest - they’re so sweet together!).

Portfolio: Elegant and Simple,Calligraphy Wedding Invites
These elegant invites convey so much in their simple design. I loved incorporating so many beautiful elements including the natural, deckled edged paper; antique gold calligraphy on the dark grey envelopes; and the illustrated, vine that is included on all three informational pieces for this complete invitation suite.
The relaxed calligraphy emphasizing the couple’s names on the invite creates a modern monogram of sorts, as well as adds a touch of sophistication to the already subdue but timeless color palette. Using the pocket folder allows all the pieces to mail easily while adding an extra and dynamic to the opening experience for the guest.

Styled Shoot: Romantic, Gold and Green Brunch
I loved getting to be apart of this wedding brunch styled shoot with so many beautiful additions dreamt up by the Elisabeth Dari and her team! The gold, cream, and green accents are the perfect engagement or bridal brunch accents to warm up the colder, dreary months of winter. Check out the magic below.
For the invitations, I went with a modern shop square accented with arch typographic details. The colors in the watercolor strokes and the touch of spot calligraphy added that bohemian feel.
Adding to the theme of mixed metals and greenery, I choose a gold envelope liner with gold calligraphy on the mailing envelope to off set the bronze and dark gun-metal gray on the invite.
Adding these watercolor sayings to individual place settings, each with a different poem, lyric or phrase added that touch of intimacy to the table that a smaller gathering allows. Topping them off with eucalyptus and a gold wax seal added texture to this already beautiful tablescape.
